Nintendo have announced that they are working on a new Zelda title for the 3DS.  Eiji Aonuma has also revealed that the game is not a remake like The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of time 3D or a direct sequel to the Zelda games on DS.  Eiji Aonuma was interviewed about this my a Portuguese website MyGames.

“We are already preparing a new game, a game in the series for the Nintendo 3DS, but don’t think that it is a direct sequel to the Zelda titles released on DS. We are talking about a new game, but it takes much of what has been done on previous consoles.”

He was also quizzed on the possibility of a majoras mask remake for 3DS.

“It’s something I’m asked about often and I assure you that it is something I’ve spoken to Miyamoto about. But recently we released The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D as a remake. We are considering the idea, but it didn’t seem right to launch a remake one after another, so the next Zelda game on 3DS will be original.”

Sony

-Many film companies turn down the offer of an Assassins creed movie

assassins creed 2

After rumours circled last month about the possibility that Sony pictures was close to buying the rights to a Assassins creed movie, Vulture is citing a unknown source saying that many film companies have turned the offer down because Ubisoft were demanding so much control over the fate of the film.

"They want to be able to pull the plug on the whole movie's development if they decide to. It's ridiculous,"

said the head of one of the unnamed studios that also passed on the film. You can’t blame Ubisoft for wanting so much control seeing how many other video game based films have failed. Sony supposedly said yes because of how little of an investment it would cost them; we’ll just wait an see if it pays off.

It look quite likely Sony will lift the wraps off a previously-unannounced game for its swanky new pocket brick. Quite what the platform holder has up its sleeves is open to wide-spread conjecture for now.

In a quarterly earnings conference call hosted by THQ this week, CEO Brian Farrell revealed that preorder numbers for Saints Row: The Third have surpassed that of the last game, Saints Row 2, by over four times the amount.

That doesn't mean they're expecting four times the amount of total sales -- at least, not from the start. THQ is planning on selling 3 million copies of Saints Row: The Third by the end of the fiscal year, which ends in March 2012. For comparison, Saints Row 2 sold 2.6 million copies between it's launch in October 2009 and the end of that respective fiscal year.
